Silver Edgar Allan Poe Earrings

Wonderful portraits of Poe were inserted into  little silver-plated frames and covered in a heavy resin coat.  From them I hung fat highly faceted marquis briolettes of black garnet (this particular stone has a very rich gemmy quality to it, in addition to being rather hard to find in this quality and shape) and wonderful tiny cream-colored freshwater pearls. The earring itself is sterling silver leverback design. These great earrings hang about 1 1/2 inches long.   Leverback earrings are very comfortable and difficult to lose when wearing (unlike fish-hook style earrings which can slip off all too easily).
